For this months theme of "Future" I wanted to base it on an original drawing I had done for a comic story I am currently developing. Rather than doing the typical theme of spaceships and aliens I was more interested in organic earthy living things like manta rays and wild humans with primal forces at work. Nature and humans in a conscious cooperation with each other.
The future is still filled with living things like now but they are stranger, more beautiful and hopefully more in tune with themselves and each other than we are now.

Really great peice. The colors are fantastic. Have you ever seen Jim Woodring's art? he does really cool alien environments. You've tapped into that surreal look. Dig it.

Thanks very much. The animation was fun to do, making the buildings move at the right times etc. I would love to revisit it at some later stage to animate the manta-bird a bit more in detail and create some lovely music for it.
I am familiar with Woodring's wonderful art although I've never consciously tried to emulate it. Surreal is a good term to describe this piece for sure.
